I can be quite terrible at responding to criticism. Sometimes I’m not receptive at all. It really depends on the person. With praise, I just smile and try to be modest.
There are definitely times when I can be cocky.

Even with all the quotes on your blog, that doesn’t make you a wonderful person. Only by living through them can you make any person believe that you are genuine.

Lauryn Hill- Doo Wop (That Thing)
Since someone has told me about the magic, I thought I should share. At the start, every number belongs to a color. You pick the number, go through it, and then pick the house with your number. However, the houses do not share the same collection making your number easy to pick. At that part, it seemed fishy even though I didn’t remember all the numbers in the color set.
However, I was still deceived and felt entertained. That’s the thing about magic too though. It’s supposed to make you believe that it’s real. Would you rather be amazed or naive though?
If you guys are amazed by this, this one beats that game by a long shot

Happiness is not what we think it to be. It is not a lifestyle that results from hard work and attaining what you dream. I believe that to be self-fulfillment. Sydney Harris said, “happiness is a direction, not a place.” I think it’s a summation of what happens in life and that is determined by what we choose to do. Do we spend more time self-loathing about our ex or go out and have fun with our friends? Do we save all the money for something we need down the road or do we spend once in a while to reward our hard work? To appreciate life at all stages, we must find moments to be thankful for, proud of, and be happy about. They do not have to be life changing, but simple enough to change your mood to a positive rather than a negative. One simple practice is to write 3 good things every day, but I think a week is more realistic. When we have nothing to add, it means that we need more of what makes us happy.
For my own record, I am going to record 3 good things about each week, starting with what happened from last Sunday until today. Whether they are good things in your book are of no concern to me. It’s subjective from individual, but find something.
1. Memorial Day at the Aquino’s with Friends/RAPS Fam
It’s always good to chill with friends and my RAPS Fam. We had lunch at Sushi Palace, went in Aquino’s pool, watched Kung Fu Panda 2, played Pusoy Dos, Mafia, and Monopoly Deal, and this was all after Aquino’s birthday party which was fun seeing everyone.
2. Finished Catching Fire
This was the first book I finished for the summer and it also happened to be the second book in the Hunger Games series. It was definitely better than the first because I couldn’t stop. Mockingjay is the only one to be left.
3. Alan’s Grad Party
Alan has been my friend since 1st grade and was my first Filipino friend when I moved to New Jersey. I am so glad that he graduated and you can’t go wrong when you add Filipino food, poker, and hookah. I also found out that I can eat imitation crab—I’m allergic to shellfish.
A male can criticize his ex for reflection. However, criticizing your current girlfriend on a social network or blog is a bitch move. Rather than the who’s right and who’s wrong issue, you should learn to work your problems out together and communicate, rather than leaving it to be commented by others. People change, but we tend to ignore that there reasons behind them. So before you have more to say, talk, listen, and try to understand, because there is no such thing as the perfect man.

I think that if it wasn’t for her, I’d be much worse. Because even if happiness cannot last forever, she makes me happy. If anything, she makes me believe it can last. She tells me that she doesn’t deserve someone like me, but I want to tell her that she cannot be the judge of that and nor can anyone else. Since she makes me smile, she can only bring out the best in me and also the most mushy me. When it comes to any female, I don’t like wearing my heart on my sleeve. She’s different though. She knows that I treat her such. I just hope she’ll believe me when I call her beautiful. Pretty can never compare to beauty.
I get that I make mistakes. But do you really have to make me feel like shit everytime I make one? Why can’t you just say something else rather than just point out every single one? When will you understand that you don’t make me feel better? That living here doesn’t make me happy and that it doesn’t really feel like home.
When will you realize that the way you are is a problem? You do such a good job of pushing people away. You tell me that I need to empathize more with you, but look at yourself from another person’s perspective rather than making me feel bad. Does that really make you better? Do you realize that you cause trouble too and that you don’t have to stress? You just have to leave me be. You’re too much and I think that’s the reason why no one else wants to really live with you.

Since phones can display full conversations, texting may even be better than phone calls, especially if you’re not a good listener. Despite the amount of time you can wait before a response, there can still be those empty pauses where what you say next could be a “difference maker”. It can make the conversation continue or just have the person just want to leave it as is.
How do you avoid these dead ends? Show that you’re following but talk about yourself in a way that makes you interesting. Add more than just okays and lols. If you have thoughts share them, but keep whatever objective you have in mind. People are sensitive to what you may say even if it’s honest.
After a while, you can only show yourself and texting is lame for getting to know people. Learn how to face time or some shit. Okay, but there are also those rare conversations where people share their thoughts. I love those and I hate for them to end, but if you know how to respond and contribute, it’ll be fine. It’ll continue if they like what you have to say.
“Imagine if your beliefs guarantee you can never get to where you want to go.”-Tony Robbins
Isn’t that a scary thought? For your whole life, you’ve only been able to succeed because life hasn’t been that hard for you. You haven’t had the need to challenge your beliefs. But how far can they get you before you fall to your all time low? What beliefs will stay and what will change? Are the values ingrained from your parents the ones that live?
I think it’s really hard to think about what you believe in because we don’t get asked that everyday. I think one of the easier ones for most can be if they believe in God, a higher entity, or an atheist. There are of course the beliefs in fate and if it’s pre determined or we are responsible for it happening. And there is the idea of true love, what makes for long lasting marriages, and what love is. We also need to mention our beliefs on how we shall raise our children, an example of good music, how you can trust people, and what truly makes people happy.
Right now, I am tempted to listen to Frank Ocean’s “We All Try”. But maybe I should give more thought to my beliefs. Without a doubt, I know that there is no absolutely correct belief. Like opinions, there are only less ignorant ones. I still place trust in my beliefs whatever they may be for they have gotten me somewhere that I cannot really define, but it’s better than no where at all.
